My Perfect Weekend
I would recommend visiting the capitol, because it is the state capitol of the largest (population wise) state in the US. Kayaking on Lake Austin, or going on the lake any other way, such as a party boat or canoe, is a lot of fun. Fishing is great if you can get into a cove that is less populated. Then, you could visit the Oasis, which is a restaurant that is built into the side of a cliff. It looks almost as if it may come crashing down, but it doesn't! Then, you could put the kids to bed and visit downtown 6th street for some great bars and music. This town prides itself on local business, so I'd suggest picking an award winning bed & breakfast for your day. For food the next day, I'd recommend trying one of the vegan/vegetarian places in town, because the food is quite tasty, as it is also a new experience for most people. Shopping down the drag is a great treat as well. There are 18 dog parks in this city, so you could spend a day at the park if you brought your four legg ... more
